ウッディプッディは、ニューヨーク・トイ・フェア2012に出展しま～す。
そう、ニューヨークです！
と、ここからは、ニューヨークトイショー担当の 山田氏
にバトンタッチ。
彼は、英語バリバリで！
そして・・・
ぬいぐるみを可愛く描くことにつよいこだわりがある男子です。

こんにちは！はじめまして！
ウッディプッディ「海外事業部」の山田です。
「海外事業部」も山田も聞いたことないですか？
田路店長がやっているフェイス ブック・ページの
もう一人の管理人だったりします。
（店長のブログやつぶやきをときどき英訳しています）
それでは、ここからは、
ニューヨークトイショー準備の仕切りを任された僕がご案内します。
来週2月12日から、
ウッディプッディは世界中から約1100社が集まる
北米最大のおもちゃショー
『ニューヨーク・ トイ・フェア2012』に出展します。
この展示会に出展する経緯としましては・・・
ウッディプッディ ＷＯＯＤＹＰＵＤＤＹが誕生して５年。
おかげさまで、日本では、ＷＯＯＤＹＰＵＤＤＹの名前やおもちゃを
多くの方に知って頂けるようになりました。
また、国内だけにはとどまらず、海外からのお問い合わせも大変増えてきました。
そこで、去年は中国の杭州、そして今年1月には上海の
「アリババ商品交易会」に出展し、
アジアのたくさんの方々にウッディプッディを紹介しました。

そして、アジアの次は・・・
世界中から、バイヤーやメディアが集まる
ニューヨークトイショーに出展することが決まったのです。
世界の子ども達に日本のこだわりが詰まった
ウッディプッディのおもちゃを伝えたい！

さて、ウッディプッディの木にこだわったおもちゃや家具は
アメリカでは、どんな反応を受けるんだろうか？？
今からみんなとても楽しみにしています。
実は、既にテレビ局から取材依頼も来ているんです。
（2/12-15は国際ニュースに注目です！）
さて、会場となるジャヴィッツ・コンベンション・センター は、
ニューヨーク・マンハッタンの真ん中、ハドソン河のほとりにある
ガラス張りの巨大見本市会場です。
グラウンド・ゼロ、
エンパイア・ス テート・ビルディング、
ブロードウェーが近くにあります。
ニュースや映画でおなじみの場所へ行けると思うとわくわくします。

英語と絵が大好きな28歳男子です。
神戸で生まれる。
幼少期をアメリカで過ごすも、帰国後、中学に上がるまでに英語を忘れる。
必死で勉強し、その甲斐あってか「受験英語」のプロに！？
神戸の有名Ｎ高生に指導していたそう。
社内では得意の英語を活かし、主に、文書の英訳・和訳に携わる業務を行っています。
今は、趣味で翻訳・絵画・英語指導をやっています。
・・と書くと、なんだか、すっごい秀才君的な硬い印象を受けますが、
いやいや、本人はいたってさわやかな青年で、
天然度もかなり高く！？楽しませてくれます（笑）
得意のイラストは、次の機会でご紹介いたしますね。

Feb. 12－15: Exhibiting at the American International Toy Fair 2012

I have big news today!!
From February 12th to the 15th, WOODY PUDDY will exhibit at the American International Toy Fair in New York (booth no. 5655).
Yes, New York!
Well, I’ll hand it over to our staff in charge of the Toy Fair, Yamada.
He has an excellent command of English!
Not only that…
he’s an artist obsessed in drawing pretty stuffed animals.

Hello!
I am Yamada of the WOODY PUDDY “Overseas Department”.
Have you never heard of a staff named Yamada or such department?
I happen to be the other administrator of our Facebook page, mainly managed by Toji-san.
(I sometimes translate her blog entries and tweets into English.)
Having been in charge of the preparation since last year, let me tell you a little bit about the show.
Starting next Sunday from February 12th, WOODY PUDDY will join the American International Toy Fair 2012, the biggest toy event in the US.
Why we came to exhibit at such an event is because…
Well, it has been 5 years since the birth of WOODY PUDDY.
Thanks to our precious customers, many people in Japan have come to know our brand.
Besides business in Japan, the number of inquiries from overseas has been increasing rapidly.
We have exhibited at the “Alibaba Trade Show” in Guangzhou last year, and in Shanghai in January this year to introduce the brand to Asia.

Having exhibited in China, where should we go next…?
Naturally we chose the American Toy Fair in New York, where buyers and the media gather from all over the world.
We must show the toys of WOODY PUDDY, full of Japanese craftsmanship to kids worldwide!

How would Americans and people from all over the world react to the solid wood toys of WOODY PUDDY? We could hardly wait.
And we’re likely to get TV news coverage!

The site, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center is a giant glass building complex, standing in the middle of Manhattan, New York, by the Hudson River. The famous convention facility is also called “The Marketplace for the World.”
Ground Zero,
the Empire State building,
and Broadway are nearby.
It is exciting to imagine actually visiting these places I am so used to seeing in the news and movies (this is my first visit to NY).

Yamada should be appearing on this blog from time to time, so let me introduce him here…
He is a 28-year-old who loves English and drawing pictures.
He was born in Kobe, Japan.
He spent the majority of his elementary school years in the US but lost most of his English skills after returning to Japan before starting to learn it again in junior high. He studied hard and later became a master (?) of “textbook English.”
He used to teach a student of the famous N●da high school.
At work he is mainly engaged in translation from Japanese to English and vice versa.
His main hobbies are translating, drawing pictures and teaching English.
…reading this should make you feel he must be some sort of snobbish genius, right?
No way. He is actually a nice boy and a bit of a scatterbrain that brings good laughs to the working place lol
I will tell him to share one of his drawings next time.
What should we have him draw?
